Next Stop, BCM: Find the catbird nest in the library. Look closely at the materials it is made of. Do you recognize any of them? Do you think you could find a nest like this one near your home?
Look at this cross-section of a beaver's home. How does it compare to the cross-section of the Schenck House? How many different parts does each house have? What is each used for?
Try constructing a spider web out of thread or string, using this illustration for a guide. Does the web remind you of any human-built structures? Hint: Look at the design of the Brooklyn Bridge.
