How does New Yorker Bernard Wolf know so much about the life and customs of the Zapotec Indians? Mr. Wolf is a photojournalist; he takes photographs of people and places that interest him and writes about them.
He thought that children would be interested in learning about this ancient culture, so he traveled to Mexico and actually lived with Leo and his family. They welcomed him into their home and shared their lives with him.
Mr. Wolf took pictures and interviewed Leo's family and other villagers to write this book. This is his fifteenth book. Check out some of his other books at your local library!
