While you're waiting, think about what it must have been like for Francis Guy to paint so many portraits of his friends and neighbors. Historian Henry R. Stiles recounts,

"Francis Guy would sit day after day in the window of his Front Street home, painting his masterpiece, Winter Scene in Brooklyn. Sometimes he would shout out to his friends below to stand still while he put them in his picture. His friends were happy to obey him."
