Q. Do you have a story and then you illustrate it, or do you create illustrations and then someone writes a story?

A.Someone usually gives me a story first, and then I illustrate it. I don't know how easy or hard it would be to do it in reverse. But I usually read the story, read the poem, read whatever it is I'm working on at the time, and try and capture the essence. A lot of thinking, so I get paid to daydream.

Q. Do you have the original copies of your art, like one individual painting?

A.I keep them in a storage space -- not in book format. Most of my pieces are large, and not flat. So, I just fit them any way I can fit them together. Some can go in a flat file, some I have to deconstruct and when somebody wants to see them I have to put them back together again.
